🌿 HAPPY RELEASE DAY🌿
MORNING LEAVES:
Reflections on Loss, Grief, and Connection
by Laing F. Rikkers; art by Kelly Leahy Radding; The Collective Book Studio.

SYNOPSIS
🌿In the wake of the untimely death of the author's younger sister and isolated by the pandemic, Laing Rikkers produced Morning Leaves, a book of vulnerable, evocative, and ultimately hopeful poems. She introduces her story and explains how counseling, the artistic process, and nature helped her through the healing process.

🌿Her poems, paired with Kelly Leahy Radding's arrestingly beautiful botanical paintings, describe the range of emotions she passes through while grieving. Readers are invited to reflect on themselves as they address the grief and loss they have experienced in their own lives.

MY THOUGHTS
🌿This is one of the most stunning books I have ever read. The poetry, elegant and poignant, captures the author's grief about the loss of her sister to undiagnosed obstructive sleep apnea (OSA). The illustrations are exquisite, showing nature's healing beauty.

🌿Producing this heartfelt book brought her solace and serves as a moving tribute to her sister Ginna, who died at 47 from atrial fibrillation, an irregular heartbeat that can result from OSA, cause the heart to race, and potentially lead to a heart attack or stroke. OSA treatment resource information is included at the end.
